Walking in Morayshire

Walking in Moray

The unspoilt landscape of Moray provides a wide range of leisure and sporting opportunities including fishing on the world famous Spey and Findhorn rivers, skiing a little further afield at The Lecht and Cairngorm range, climbing and walking.

With Patrick being an outdoor enthusiast and Celia preferring a stroll with the dog followed by lunch or drinks with friends, we feel we have all bases covered . Here are a few of our favourites when it comes to walks:

Speyside Way

This walk provides beautiful scenery as the route follows the River Spey all the way from Aviemore to Buckie (65 miles). It is a really lovely walk with lots of pit stops on the way, (the Highlander Inn or Copper Dog being a favourite!)

Coastal Walk Findhorn to Lossiemouth, and beyond

We love a beach walk and this walk is stunning, you can follow the coast all the way round and enjoy dolphin spotting as you go. Whether you end up in Findhorn or Lossie- there is a nice pub to welcome you for a drink. This link lets you see where you can jump on and off the coastal pathways

Ben Rinnes

Worth the walk for the stunning view of Speyside from the top. Takes about an hour (roughly) to get to the top, depending on fitness.

Randolph’s Leap

Randolph’s Leap is a dramatic, scenic walk along the River Findhorn. Starting at Logie Steading you will find a café, farm shop, a children’s play area and other facilities.
