We’ve had an unusually busy start to this year at Paton & Co with several properties going under offer this month and five sets of keys handed over to excited homeowners as they begin 2025 in their new homes, we are also preparing a lot of homes to bring to market over the coming months. This activity is no surprise given Zoopla have reported ‘buyer demand is 13% higher than a year ago, with 10% more homes for sale and 12% more sales agreed’.
We’ve also had some very interesting new insights from Rightmove. According to their data from 2024, we sold more properties over £200,000 across the twenty nine postcode areas nearest our Berwick-upon-Tweed office than any other agent working in these areas, placing Paton & Co first out of 82 offices. And if you look at the data for sales over £400,000, across these same twenty nine postcode areas, again Paton & Co is first in terms of sales out of 54 offices with properties in this price range. (*Rightmove Report Below) While we have sold properties more widely than these areas, both north and south of the border and including homes in East Lothian, Edinburgh and the Highlands, we hope that these insights are encouraging to anyone who is thinking of selling their home and considering an agent to entrust with this.
