Situated just 2.5miles outside the charming village of Broughton, Merlindale Lodge enjoys an idyllic location surrounded by the hills and valleys of the Scottish Borders. Within this National Scenic Area, a gentle stroll from the property will lead to Merlin’s grave by the River Tweed, one of many historical sites of interest in an area steeped in legends and archaeological relics. Drumelzier Village is 1 mile to the west, prior to Stobo Village and 8 miles further, lies the larger town of Peebles.
Broughton is a thriving village with a strong sense of community spirit. The village houses a Primary School, Broughton Village Store, a garage and the Laurel Bank Tea Room. The market town of Biggar lies 5 miles to the west and all services and amenities can be found here, alongside a plethora of independent retailers, local produce, Biggar Medical Practice, Biggar High School and a multitude of activities for all ages. Biggar Little Festival is an annual event attracting talent from near and far.
Peebles has all the amenities one would expect with excellent independent retailers and service providers adding plenty to the mix.
